About
For 22 years, Centro Flamenco has consistently adhered to the highest standards of instruction in the art of flamenco.
Centro Flamenco was established in 1989 by Rosario Ancer and Victor Kolstee to create an environment where students are provided with a structured approach to flamenco dance.
Both Rosario and Victor started their careers performing in Spanish tablaos, and they regularly visit Spain to take workshops, meet with flamenco artists, and see shows. When they return to Vancouver, they bring this experience and deep connection to flamenco to their students at Centro Flamenco. While teaching dance, guitar, and singing, and how these elements come together, they provide the aficionado with first-hand anecdotes and a cultural, social, and historical framework of flamenco.
Year-round training includes separate classes for children, teens and adults, as well as a professional program entered into by selection only. Professionals and enthusiasts alike will benefit from exposure to the many facets of this art form, including dance, guitar, percussion, cante, workshops, and reference materials.
At Centro Flamenco, we are devoted to developing and sharing knowledge and love of the art of flamenco.
