ON SALE NOW. The Best of José Lara compiles live and studio performances by Vancouver-based flamenco vocalist Lara and guitarist Victor Kolstee. These recordings span the years 1977 to 1988, documenting the artistic development of both performers.

José is one the most familiar and respected figures of Vancouver's flamenco community. Born in Madrid,he began his career performing in that city's famous tablaos, including Coral de la Moreria, Villa Rosa and Molino Rojo. In the early 1960s he made a number of tours, first to southern Spain, then to Germany and England. José settled in Vancouver in 1971 and has since built up a considerable personal following. He has performed in numerous Flamenco Rosario productions and has been a mainstay of Kino Café as well as countless clubs and restaurants over the years.
